CCI Update November
Cross Culture partners,
Greetings from Kyiv. We thank you all for your partnership in our work in Ukraine.
With a heavy heart I inform you that Oxana died earlier this week. Please keep Sergey, the children, and all the family in your prayers. They have a difficult road ahead of them as they adjust to life without Oxana. Everyone who has lost a spouse, a parent, or a close friend can empathize with the family, allow that empathy to be a call to prayer.
Autumn is deepening with lower temperatures, foggy days, and the loss of daylight hours. We are missing the summer evenings spent in the sunny park until 9 PM or later! One blessing of fall though is that the leaves are beautiful in so many places. We are thankful that in each season there are gifts from God to enjoy.
We continue to meet with our Zoom groups each week, our Sunday Young Adult Group is still meeting in person and is well attended. In addition to sharing a meal, having a Bible study, and playing games together, Lora has invited those who are interested to work in her art studio (formerly known as Lexi’s bedroom). We will continue meeting in person as long as we think it is wise, then we will shift that group back to online meetings.
Our plans currently are to remain in Ukraine until early December. We are keeping a close watch on the COVID-19 case numbers and government restrictions that are tightening currently both in Ukraine and in Europe. Please pray that we will be wise with our decision making, and that we will have advance warning about airport closures due to tightening restrictions.
We are so thankful to have such a wonderful family of ministry partners!
Grace and peace,
Kenny and Lora
