A Long War

Today, October 4, 2023 is Day 588 of the full scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. It is also 9 and a half years since the invasion of Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. No one dreamed back in 2014 when this all started that it would still be an ongoing crises today. And yet it continues…

For those who are not immediately affected by the war, it is easy to forget about it in all the demands of daily life, not to mention the fact that our short attention spans make us feel like the war in Ukraine is old news. But for the people of Ukraine - both those who still live there and those who have moved somewhere else - there is no forgetting the war. War is all-invasive.

A Ukrainian artist, Daniel Yaburov, took photos designed to share the horrors and realities of the war. I have included them with this post.
